BTEC results day 2026: when results come out and what to do
BTEC Level 3 results day is Thursday 13 August 2026. That is the same day as A-level results day, which matters if your offer includes both qualifications.
Results day can be oddly quiet at first. Your college may give you a printout, UCAS Hub may take time to update, and universities do not all make decisions at the same moment. Start with the result in front of you, then work through the next steps.
When BTEC results come out
Pearson's June 2026 timetable says BTEC Nationals Level 3 results are released to students on 13 August 2026. Centres receive those results under embargo on 5 August. This timetable is for qualifications with external assessment.
BTEC Level 1 and 2 results, including BTEC Tech Awards, have a different student release date of 20 August 2026. This guide is for Level 3 Nationals such as the Extended Diploma, Diploma, Extended Certificate, Foundation Diploma and Certificate.
What to do on the day
- Check the qualification and final grade. Make sure the result is for the qualification in your offer. A Diploma and an Extended Diploma carry different tariff points.
- Check UCAS Hub. Your application may show your firm place confirmed, your insurance place confirmed, or that the university is still deciding. Do not assume a pending status means bad news.
- Read your offer again. Some offers specify a particular BTEC grade. Others use tariff points or include GCSE requirements as well.
- Contact the university if something is missing. If UCAS has not received a result that your offer needs, ask admissions what evidence it needs and when.

Congratulations. Check UCAS Hub for confirmation, then follow the instructions from your university about accommodation, enrolment and any documents it needs. Keep your results safe even if UCAS shows your place as confirmed.
If you are still waiting
A conditional offer can stay pending while a university checks another qualification, a required GCSE, or information it has asked you to provide. UCAS says most universities set 2 September as the date by which remaining conditions need to be met, but the deadline for your choice can differ. Contact the university directly if its status does not explain what it needs.
If the result was not what you expected
Take a breath before making a decision. Your firm or insurance choice may still confirm your place. If neither does, you may have options through Clearing. If you think there is an error or you want to ask about a review or appeal, speak to your college immediately and tell the university what is happening. Our guide to Clearing, resits and appeals explains the routes.
